We are offering an exciting opportunity for two curators interested to work a 12 month fixed-term parental leave contract at New Plymouth's Puke Ariki Museum. Reporting to the Collections and Curatorial Coordinator, these role provide variety and challenge. You will be working in project teams across the collection areas doing collection care work and exhibition development. As such, we are interested in hearing from experienced practitioners regardless of your specialisation area.

These roles require an understanding of best practice research, exhibition making and interpretation as well as understanding of, and experience in object care, handling, cataloguing, registration and associated tasks. You will have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent.

These positions will suit those with a flexible and adaptable approach and who are up for a challenge. Most importantly, you will be a collaborative team member. To be successful in this role, you will have an understanding of and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and biculturalism. You will also support the organisational values of Mana Tangata, Oranga Tangata, Kotahitanga and Hāpaitanga.
