Design the next limited-edition merch that celebrates Taranaki, a region like no other.

We’re inviting locals with a spark of imagination and creativity to help shape the Taranaki Like No Other merchandise collection. Submit a bold, original design that celebrates our people, our places, and our culture, and you could see your work produced by local social enterprise Game Changer as part of the official range. The winner will also take home $1,000 cash and $250 worth of Taranaki Like No Other merch.

The prize

  • $1,000 cash prize for the winning design, and $250 worth of Taranaki Like No Other merch.
  • Your design will be produced as part of a limited-edition Taranaki Like No Other merch range produced with Game Changer.
  • Recognition as the artist, with promotion across Taranaki Like No Other marketing channels, Game Changer’s website, and in media.

The brief

Your design should:

  • Celebrate Taranaki: Reflect the bold identity, landmarks, stories, and creative spirit of our region, from maunga to moana, and everything in between.
  • Align with Taranaki Like No Other values: Vibrant, innovative, proud, inclusive, community-focused, embodying the manaaki (welcome), and tiaki (care for people, place and culture) that define Taranaki.
  • Be bold and wearable: A design that stands out, is easy to wear, and has broad appeal across age groups. Please reference our Taranaki Like No Other colour guide for inspiration.
  • Be practical for production: Suitable for screen printing or digital printing, ideally using a maximum of 3–4 colours. Vector-based files are preferred for scalability.
  • Be designed to be produced: on black, white, or bone (see AS Colour website for colourways).
  • Have potential beyond a tee: While the first use will be a limited-edition t-shirt, the design should be adaptable for future merchandise such as hoodies, caps, or accessories.
