Oakura Beach is a popular beach, especially for families.
Located 15 minutes south of New Plymouth city, Oakura is a beautiful village centred around a picturesque beach. Patrolled by surf life savers in summer, the beach is perfect for families and beginner surfers.
The beach is also home to a New Year's Day Carnival that attracts thousands and raises money for the surf life saving club each year.
