The Role
Our Sexual Harm Crisis Support Service (SHCSS) provides crisis intervention for people who have been affected by sexual harm by providing a safe and high-quality response to clients during and immediately following a crisis.
Leading a team of 8 staff, the Team Leader SHCSS will coordinate and develop WellStop’s Sexual Harm Crisis Support Services throughout all regions where SHCSS operate in accordance with ministry contracts and guidelines. You will ensure sexual harm crisis interventions are culturally effective and based on established principles of good practice. The role leads and manages the day to day operations of the SHCSS service and team across multiple locations and works to meet WellStop strategic objectives.
There is a requirement to be part of a crisis on-call roster, providing an after-hours response on a rotation. Some travel to SHCSS sites may be required.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in the delivery of psychosocial crisis supports services that take a trauma-informed approach.
Experience in working with issues of sexual abuse, trauma, mental health and/or intellectual disability would be advantageous.
An understanding of integrated responses to crisis support.
Significant relevant experience, and the ability to mentor and guide employees.
Able to manage relationships with support networks and agencies.
Understanding of contract management.
The ability to work in a culturally responsive manner that demonstrates a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi including experience with Kaupapa Māori models of practice.
Experience of working collaboratively and effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
Be registered with a professional body and have a current Practicing Certificate (or be in the process of obtaining).
You may be required to drive so a FULL NZ driver’s licence is required.
To be considered for this position you must already be located and resident in NZ and have either NZ citizenship/residency or a valid NZ work visa.
A recognised qualification in social work, psychology, psychotherapy, counselling, family therapy, or similar
