Te āheinga - The opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Swim School Instructor to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for running effective swim school classes and assisting in maintaining a customer-focused, fun, safe, clean, and well-managed operation of the Aquatic Centre and District Pools Swim School. This role will be approx. four to five hours of work per week on a permanent basis.

Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:

- Ensure the planning, coordination and delivery of swim classes meets the customers' needs and maximises the use of facilities
- Provide leadership and direction to customers in the performance of children through the production of class reports and certificates
- Adhere to all safety provisions
- Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation

Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience:

- A recognised swim teaching qualification
- A current first aid certificate
- Experience in planning and writing programmes for all Learn to Swim Programmes
