ABOUT THE ROLE
This role would be servicing the New Plymouth and surrounding areas. This is an opportunity to grow an awesome career with the team. In this role you will be using your experience to hit the ground running and deal with our full product range of lifting equipment, wire ropes and height safety gear while out on the road carrying out inspections, testing and certification services for our clients. You will also have a natural flair for Customer Service, within the scope of work, you will be performing:
Carry out Third Party Inspections, Testing and Certification of Lifting Equipment and Height Safety Gear whilst on Customer sites.
Work in with Scheduled Customer site visits using an online reporting system.
Be hands-on & technically minded - Carry out on-site equipment repairs / replacements as required.
Accurately complete all necessary customer and company documentation including producing registered certificates and asset registers.
Follow-up on customer enquiries and provide expert industry specific advice in line with best practices.
Actively promote the range Services we offer to potential customers, offering examples of products and solutions.
Perform duties in accordance with ISO quality procedures and company SOP’s.
Build sound relationships with clients and become their trusted advisors demonstrating competence in within the wire rope rigging disciplines.
To be successful in your application you will have ideally 2 plus years of Lifting Equipment & Ropes related industry experience and experience at working across high-risk industries. You will have skills in rigging and splicing of steel and fiber rope, experience operating and/or inspecting lifting equipment, and possess a formal rigging trade certificate.
You will display flexibility to meet client requirements and can juggle several tasks at any given time. Being comfortable with a position of responsibility and accountability is also vital - making competent decisions in a demanding industry is an everyday requirement.
YOUR DEVELOPMENT
As a Full Member of LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineering Association), the global industry standard, Cookes provides the opportunity for our technicians to obtain internationally recognized qualifications. Initially this is the LEEA Foundation Couse which reflects our initial training program for equipment and theory knowledge. This later develops to undertaking Advanced Level training programs with LEEA including the ‘Lifting Equipment – General’ and ‘Lifting Machines Manual’ diploma level qualifications. The learning and development pathway from first joining until deemed fully qualified with the advanced level qualifications would normally take a minimum of 3 years.
This is a full-time permanent role paying $30 - $35 per hour (depending on experience) working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday (8 hours per day). Due to the nature of the industry, occasionally overtime will be required to be worked.
