To join our national support function, we are seeking an experienced Regional Health & Safety Advisor to be based in Taranaki predominately (with some travel required). You will be driven by a can-do attitude and someone who is passionate about transforming safety engagement, ensuring people are empowered, well equipped and set-up for success.

You will work in partnership with the operational teams to lead Health & Safety improvement and change programs. So, building and maintaining trusted relationships, whilst having conversations that challenge the status quo and uplift capability is crucial. In this role you will be an agent of change, with a learning approach and contemporary H&S mindset, whilst having boots on the ground to coach and work in the field.

Your background will include

A demonstrated ability to coach, engage and influence people
5+ years' experience in similar role in safety sensitive or other high-risk industry (multi-site),
Level 6 or above Health and Safety or other technical qualification (desired)
Experience in delivering user-friendly, fit for purpose advice and programs,
Sound risk management capability, with effective problem solving and an inquisitive mind,
Strong investigation, root cause analysis and risk management,
Strong verbal and written communication, workshop facilitation and interpersonal skills,
Sound computer experience (e.g. Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint and other),
Proven experience in driving measurable performance improvement,
Demonstrated H&S and related legislative knowledge, interpretation and practical application.
Foundational Injury/claim management skills and experience
The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Pre-Employment Health Assessment (including drugs test) and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, the results of which must be to EnviroNZ's satisfaction. Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
