New Plymouth Hospital was established in 1983 and is the only private surgical hospitals in the city. We provide services to around 4000 patients each year. Our dedicated, fun team provides services and excellent post-operative nursing care across a wide range of elective surgical services, including orthopaedic surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, oral and facial maxillary, urology, otolaryngology (ENT), plastic reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, and general and endoscopic surgery.

You will be required to work 20 hours per week on rotating rostered shifts, including Saturdays. This will also involve some afternoon and evening work.

As part of the team you will provide:

A positive and flexible manner and be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Skilled administration of patient information for safe clinical care delivery
Skilled administration of patient information for effective revenue processing
Clerical and office services to patients, medical specialists, visitors and hospital staff
A valuable contribution as a member of the administration team
Carry out all administration functions and processes relating to patient admission to meet the standards of the Southern Cross business
To be successful you will ideally need:

Reception and/or clerical experience including Microsoft programs such as Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
Healthcare experience (desired)
Previous experience using Patient management systems, medical records (desired)
Excellent communication skills
Ability to multitask and work under pressure
Proven customer relationship skills
Have a positive, friendly, proactive nature and great attention to detail
