The Opportunity

With a focus on development and growth, the Group are looking for a self motivated and experienced fully qualified mechanical engineer to support our mechanical and engineering workshop team.
Our client base is expanding and this is an opportunity to work with a dedicated team on a variety of interesting and challenging projects.
This is a permanent position with a minimum of 40 hours per week, after hours and weekend work is on a roster basis.

You will be key to the continued success of the FBT Workshop through the provision of high-quality customer service to both our internal and external customer base.

Skills and Experience:

To be successful in this role you will have:
• Trade qualification in General Engineering
• Ability to analyse and interpret drawings and data
• A proven work history which displays high quality workmanship and work ethic
• Trade qualification in Fabrication/Fitting & Welding (highly desirable)
• Full, current, and clean NZ driver’s licence
• Complete a pre-employment medical check including drug and alcohol screening

Duties will include but are not limited to:
• New truck builds
• Design, build, maintain machines and structures
• Customised stationery plant builds
• General engineering services
• LT400 work

You will also be:
• Positive, empathetic and approachable
• A strong team player
• Able to problem solve, with solution and outcome focus
• Ability to work unsupervised yet excel in a team environment
