About the opportunity
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Asset Integrity team at Whareroa, reporting directly into our Asset Integrity Engineer. This is a key role contributing to our plant reliability and an opportunity to take asset integrity to a new level.
As our Mechanical Engineer, you will bring your technical engineering expertise to the site and, working closely with our Reliability Engineers, be responsible for the Engineering & Asset Lifecycle Management of the site mechanical assets. You’ll be passionate about excellence, continuous improvement and have a keen interest in emerging technology.
Other responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage the Condition Monitoring Team and Lube Technician
• Own compliance with Licence to Operate requirements
• Drive plant improvements as well as analysis of plant performance
• Design and development of engineering solutions
• Planning for effective project implementation
About you
We are looking for a strong problem solver with great analytical abilities as well as Project Management experience. You’ll pride yourself in your relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to work with others to achieve results. You will also have the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.

Strong interpersonal and team engagement skills
Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent
An interest in leading and coaching other team members
Strong health and safety focus!
Understanding of Major Hazard Facilities.
