NPE-Tech is an accredited established Electrical Contracting company based in Palmerston North, New Plymouth, Tauranga and Hamilton.
We are currently looking for Overhead and/or Underground Line Mechanic and or Team leader to join our New Plymouth team

About the Role:
This is an exciting time for our company as we are experiencing strong growth, and this is a great opportunity for staff who want to grow with us. This role will suit experienced Line Mechanic and/or Cable Jointers who’s ability to lead a field team and project through to completion, methodical, safety and customer orientated.
Key Tasks:
Lead a team of field staff with onsite activities and coordinate resources to effectively and safely deliver project work to PowerCo standards
Receive project handovers from Design/Estimators and provide input into the planning of the project
Carry out maintenance and asset replacement on overhead and underground distribution network assets as per the local network standards
Install underground reticulation, cables, transformers, and switchgear
Replace poles and crossarms on the local network
Carry out appropriate electrical testing procedures and document electrical tests as required by the various Electrical Regulations and Codes of Practice.
Deliver jobs as per the allocated man hours and materials planned
Assist with training apprentice/trainee line mechanics
Develop positive working relationships with other apprentices and team members
Proactively communicate any issues that may hinder the successful completion of a task or health and safety of yourself or others
Health and Safety:
Take reasonable care that your actions or inactions cause no harm to you or others Actively participate in health and safety matters, meetings and processes.
Follow our Critical Risk framework and associated Safe Work method Statements (SWMS) and other safe working instructions and procedures.
Use protective clothing and equipment as and where required.
Report incidents, accidents, near misses and hazards in a timely manner as per company and client requirements
What we are looking for:
Hold a valid full driver’s license. Class 2 is preferable.
Hold a valid NZQA level 4 Electrical qualification.
Aptitude for network distribution electrical work
Demonstrate knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices
Possess the ability to understand plans, schematics and construction standards Minimum of 5 years’ experience on a distribution network
