THOMSON O’NEIL & CO is a Legal firm with offices at Eltham, Stratford, Opunake and Patea.

We have a permanent full-time position available in our Stratford office to join our busy and friendly team.

Our firm has a strong emphasis on property related matters and have a vacancy for a legal executive/secretary with a preferred minimum of 2 years experience. Our Legal Executives have a key role not only managing files but in supporting both our clients and our Lawyers to ensure the best possible outcomes for all.

We seek an experienced legal executive/secretary, to support a consultant, with generalist experience but a strong focus on conveyancing, with the ability to autonomously manage files from initial instruction through to settlement. Though residential conveyancing will be a focus, familiarity with rural conveyancing, business sale and purchases, lease agreements, EPOAs and wills is also required along with Landonline experience – this role offers variety and it will be an advantage to have a breadth of experience in the New Zealand legal environment.

We seek a person with the following attributes:

experience in a Legal office is preferred but not essential

very good typing skills with experience in Microsoft Word

initiative and the ability to work unsupervised

ability to work in a team environment

strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and accurately

highly organised

good sense of humour
