Ready to lead, mentor and shake things up?
We’re not just looking for an Engineer—we’re looking for someone who can lead the way, share their knowledge, and genuinely enjoy coming to work each day.

We need a Lead Process Engineer to help us take our projects, people, and processes to the next level. This role is a mix of hands-on design, client interaction, mentoring our engineers, and pushing for better ways of doing things.

If you’re the type of person who likes a challenge, enjoys variety, and believes that engineering should never be boring—this one’s for you.

Who are we?

We’re P&P Engineering Consultants, a 100% NZ-owned firm based in the heart of New Plymouth. We’re about 50 strong, and we like to think we punch above our weight. We’re curious, collaborative, a bit quirky, and always up for a laugh. Our office is based in the middle of the CBD, a stone’s throw from cafes, restaurants, bars and less than a 5 min walk to the coastal walkway!

What you’ll be doing:

Leading exciting projects from concept to completion—your ideas will shape the outcome

Sharing your hard-earned wisdom with our Process Engineers

Jumping into proposals and tenders—and sometimes steering the ship

Teaming up with clients to dream up innovative, practical solutions

Collaborating with other engineering disciplines and designers

Getting involved in HAZOPs and technical deep dives

Helping us to build better ways of working

What we’re looking for:

Our ideal candidate will have:

A relevant bachelor’s degree

10+ years of process engineering experience

A collaborative mindset and ability to work as part of a wider team

Strong communication skills—on paper, in person, and maybe even on a whiteboard

A passion for mentoring, sharing ideas and supporting team growth

A mindset of continuous improvement

Why P&P?

We offer a genuinely collaborative and supportive environment where your voice is heard. You’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects across diverse industries. We provide flexible working options, a strong commitment to work-life balance and generous staff benefits including:

Fully subsidised health insurance

Subsidised income protection insurance

Professional development support
