We are looking for an experienced leader for the role of Coatings Factory Manager / Estimator based in New Plymouth for our Asset Services Division.

You will have a strong background leading teams of skilled tradesmen, ideally you will come from a coatings background. The normal day to day responsibilities of a Factory Manager will apply, including working with the Management team to plan work programs, supervise staff and their work activities to achieve efficiency expectations, producing relevant reports, coordinating labour and the delivery of materials, plant and equipment etc.

High level of estimating experience with the ability to read technical drawings, understand client requirements and specifications and produce estimates and quotations to a high standard.

We expect this calibre of manager would have at least 5 years in a similar role.

Your background as a candidate:

At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Proven track record of managing/supervising teams of tradesman
Capable of quickly identifying issues and inefficiencies and implanting appropriate systems
Blasting / Coatings Experience
Excellent communication skills
Excellent Health and Safety knowledge, practices and management skills
A reliable leader that always sets the example
A track record of liaising closely with clients, consultants and sub consultants
Having a good understanding of blasting / coatings processes
A solution’s-based outlook where no challenge is insurmountable
Drive a culture of high-quality workmanship, accountability, and continuous improvement
Adaptable and flexible with the ability to think on your feet
Planning experience with confidence and ability to delegate, juggle and reassign tasks as necessary
NACE qualification would be highly regarded.
