At Haukai Bistro & Bar and Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki we are on a mission to provide the best restaurant experience in New Plymouth and in our quest to be the best we need to fill a few roles to ensure we position ourselves at the forefront of guest expectations.



The restaurant focuses on regional cuisine that highlights the best local produce from the Taranaki region. Featuring indoor and outdoor dining areas, it is the perfect place to relax with a meal accompanied by fine New Zealand wine or gin. This is a very busy restaurant and we set very high expectations, so we are only seeking the absolute best people to deliver on our promises and to provide the ultimate guest experience.



We are looking for vibrant and charismatic Food and Beverage SUPERSTARS, with a strong background in the hospitality industry to join our small Food and Beverage team.



The following opportunities have become available:

2 Full-Time Food and Beverage Attendant Role
3 Part-Time Food and Beverage Attendants Role
All roles require flexibility to work on a roster basis any day of the week between Monday to Sunday, 5 days per week, including public holidays, when applicable. Breakfast shifts will start as early as 04:45 and late shifts will be until the restaurant close time, normally by 23:00, sometimes later, sometimes a bit earlier. You will be required to work breakfast, lunch, and dinner shirts.

Food and Beverage Attendants

We have permanent part-time and a full-time role available; the part-time roles will be guaranteed for 15 hours per week and the full-time role will be guaranteed for 30 hours minimum per week.



Duties:

Conferencing and event shifts
Order taking from guests
Making and serving barista coffees
Serving food, a la carte and buffet style
Pouring and serving beverages including wine, beer, and spirits. cocktails etc.
General cleaning and clearing of dishes/ glasses from tables
General cleaning of the restaurant
Resetting tables
Monitoring the buffet during breakfast
Set-up of the restaurant for breakfast / lunch / dinner (depending on your shift)
Conferencing and event set-ups


Essentials:

Some Food and Beverage Attendant experience will be beneficial
Barista coffee knowledge and skills will be beneficial
Experience in buffet and A la Carte service
Beverage knowledge (including wines, beers, spirits and cocktails) will be beneficial
Confidence pouring and serving/presenting wine and beer
Ability and confidence carrying plated food and clearing dirty dishes
Experience using a MICROS point of sale system would be advantageous, but not required
An LCQ certificate will be advantageous
A Current Manager’s certificate will be advantageous
