BTW is a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering surveying, engineering, and environmental services across New Zealand. We’re seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to lead HSE initiatives, ensure ISO 45001 and legislative compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture across our offices and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide visible HSE leadership and expert guidance to Governance and Management teams
Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations (ICAM), and field audits
Maintain our HSE management system and lead prequalification processes
Develop and deliver safety training and performance reporting
Support project teams with practical, compliant HSE plans for tenders
What You’ll Bring:
Degree/diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or comparable qualification
3+ years’ experience in a health and safety leadership role, ideally in engineering or construction
Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and NZ HSE legislation
Audit and ICAM investigation experience
Clear communicator with excellent report writing and MS Office skills
Experience in implementing and using AI tools, information systems and technologies in a health and safety context
