Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head Chef to lead the creation of exceptional high-end casual cuisine, inspire and manage the kitchen team, and deliver an unforgettable dining experience. This is a rare opportunity for a culinary leader to shape the identity of 487 Estate and establish it as one of Taranaki’s premier dining destinations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement innovative menus offerings that reflect seasonal ingredients and current culinary trends.
Lead, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and sanitation.
Maintain high standards of food quality and consistency.
Collaborate with the management team to drive the venue’s culinary vision and guest satisfaction.
Manage inventory, budgeting, and supplier relationships effectively.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role.
Demonstrated expertise in diverse cooking techniques and cuisines.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
Creative and innovative approach to menu development.
Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
