We are looking to grow our Taranaki civil engineering team – this is the chance for you to begin an exciting journey with BTW Company as a Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist, we are open to discussing this opportunity with you as an intermediate, senior or principal Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist.

You will become a core part of the engineering team based in New Plymouth and also work closely with our engineering team in Hamilton. We have several great projects lined up and would like to have an experienced Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist hit the ground running with us as soon as possible.

As a Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist, you will need to have the ability to undertake design, investigations, reports and sketches to professional and relevant standards to existing and new clients.

As a Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist at BTW Company you will:

Provide engineering services to clients, using practical engineering solutions in a timely fashion. This often includes following the project from identification of issues to construction of physical works remedies.
Undertake design, investigations, reports and sketches to professional and relevant standards.
Perform technical reviews and sign off engineering documentation if suitably qualified
Provide support to other aspects of the engineering team as workload dictates.
As a Geotechnical Engineer/Engineering Geologist, you will need:

A Washington accord degree equivalent in Civil Engineering or Earth Sciences degree
At least 5 years’ experience post degree related to Geotechnical engineering – with a significant amount of experience gained in New Zealand.
Ideally, but not essential, full membership of Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng)
Strong knowledge of geotechnical engineering
Preferable experience overseeing projects
The ability to develop and sustain strong relationships with staff, customers, and contractors.
To be motivated, professional, cooperative, and responsive to the needs of the team and clients.
