Downer New Plymouth:

We are on the hunt for a keen and eager Drainlayer to join our New Plymouth team in this brand new role to help us carry out work on our New Plymouth District Council contract. If you are based in Taranaki or if you are interested in relocating? We will assist you with making the move.

About the role:

This is a 'hands on' role where you will lead a crew tasked with delivering a range of our civil infrastructure construction projects for both external clients and on new and our existing Downer maintenance contracts.

You will plan, organise, direct and lead activities and operations of the team in the field to ensure that work is completed to the satisfaction of our customers and that production targets are met.

You will primarily be assisting our construction crews undertaking the renewals of water, wastewater and storm water projects, completing reporting, plant maintenance and emergency repairs.

About you:

You will be a certified drain layer or working towards that
Experience as a drainlayer
High standard of workmanship
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
Strong safety and quality focus
Experience in leading a team an advantage
