Are you an experienced dental assistant and administrator looking for a new opportunity? Our dental practice in New Plymouth is currently recruiting for a full-time (40 hours/week) permanent position. This role is specifically for a qualified dental assistant and practice administrator with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $25 to $30. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual who has a minimum of five years of experience in the field. As part of our team, your expertise in administrative tasks, finance management, and clinical support will be crucial in ensuring the efficient functioning of our practice.

Key Skills Requirements:

Providing support in all aspects of patient care, ensuring patients are prepared for dental procedures and updating their medical histories.
Operating and maintaining dental equipment, prioritizing proper functioning and sterilization.
Efficiently managing patient schedules to ensure timely and smooth appointments.
Actively engaging patients through recall efforts to maintain their involvement in dental care. Handling patient inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and compassionately, promptly addressing any concerns.
Collaborating closely with other dental team members to ensure a seamless and exceptional patient experience.
Offering comprehensive chairside assistance to dentists throughout all phases of dental procedures.
Keeping dental operatories, instruments, and materials prepared and organized for efficient workflows.
Educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and postoperative care for optimal dental health.
Assisting with the management of stock and dental supplies
Qualifications:

Possession of a formal qualification or certificate in dental assisting.
Over five years of experience in the dental field, working as a dental assistant and administrator in a dental practice.
Strong organisational skills that enable efficient management of administrative tasks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective interaction with patients and dental staff.
Fluent in English
Proficiency in operating and maintaining dental equipment.
Knowledge of dental office management, including handling patient schedules and addressing inquiries.
Ability to handle patient complaints and feedback in a compassionate and professional manner.
Collaborative mindset, enabling effective teamwork with a multidisciplinary dental team.
Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures.
