Our Business Technology Group has an exciting opportunity for a talented tech savvy individual.

As a Data Engineer, you will ensure council data is managed, accessible, fit for purpose and of good quality by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Day to day you will be required to develop, deploy, and maintain BI Components over their lifecycle from source to reporting. You will contribute to the development of a Data Strategy which supports the goals outlined in the Information Services Strategic Plan (ISSP).

Ideally you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and at least two years' experience in a BI Developer or Data Engineer role. Proven capability supporting data warehouses and tabular semantic models and reports and ability to work collaboratively with others to a high standard of work would also be an advantage. You are curious and committed to continual self-development. You are organised and have good written and verbal communication skills.

You experience and skills include working with some or all of the Microsoft BI Tool stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS) and willingness to learn these. Also, you have a developer background and some experience with C#/web development and source control (Git). Ideally, you have some experience in using Azure Devops services (Repos, CI/CD). Tools we use are Visual Studio, Git Bash or other client, SSMS and PowerBI. DAX, Python and statistics would be a bonus.
