At New Plymouth District Council, we're committed to enhancing rural infrastructure through sustainable practices and innovative solutions. As the Contracts Manager - Rural you will play a pivotal role in managing the New Plymouth Infrastructure Partnership to optimize rural road networks, ensuring cost-efficient service delivery while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:
- Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of road construction and maintenance projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget and timeline expectations
- Oversee customer requests to ensure a customer focused service is provided to the community
- Ensure effective contractor management processes and relationships are maintained with key contractors
- Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets safety and engineering standards
- Support the Infrastructure team in operational delivery work and provide back up for other Contracts Managers
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline e.g. Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience in managing road construction or maintenance contracts, preferably in rural settings
- RAMM knowledge
- Familiar with industry standards and specifications
- Experience in data analysis and management including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel would be an advantage
