Here’s your chance to join the Central Region Civil Construction crew as a Concrete Worker/Finisher. We have multiple vacancies with a steady pipeline of Maintenance and Construction projects on the horizon.
We are looking for Concrete Workers in New Plymouth.
About the role:
As a Downer Concrete Worker/Finisher, you will be a specialist tradesperson who works alongside a team, and individually at times, to plan and carry out specialist concrete and formwork within the structures and maintenance departments on a day-to-day basis. You will optimise the use of company resources and contribute to the successful completion of our contracts.
Essentially you will pour, spread, smooth and finish concrete for structures such as ramps and footpaths etc. Other responsibilities include;
Erecting concrete formwork and laying steel reinforcing
Pouring, spreading and levelling concrete using screeds and templates
Forming expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers and straight edges
Cutting lines in concrete using power cutters
Cover freshly poured concrete with colouring powders and other materials.
About you:
You will be a team player with an organised and systematic approach to the working environment with some experience in the civil contracting industry. You will also have:
A NZ Register Level 1 qualification (or equivalent), or secondary education
Experience in specialized concrete and formwork
Experience with finished concrete work to pre-cast finishing standard (desirable)
Full Drivers licence
A Zero harm focus
The ability to work well within a team and independently
Good communication skills
