They pride themselves in understanding customers’ needs, manufacturing to industry best practice and servicing customers with quality products. Established over 60 years ago, Taranakipine holds a significant position in both NZ and overseas timber products markets and is committed to sustainability, growth and development. Their culture is open, approachable and supportive with a focus on team, continuous improvement and excellent customer service.

The Role

Due to an internal promotion, this opportunity has become available for an experienced person with great relationship management skills. This is a dual role where you will spend approximately 70% of your time doing internal sales support and 30% of your time managing the Lower North Island Region (Taranaki, Wellington, Manawatu, Hawkes Bay, Gisborne), as the Account Manager.

The purpose of this role is to actively contribute to and implement Taranakipines’ Sales and Marketing strategy through effective management of your client base and stakeholder relationships. You will also be the key support for the overall sales team, as well as working within the Domestic Despatch team.

Implementing a sales strategy for your region that delivers on specific targets, and working alongside the Market Manager and sales team in developing and delivering to market new products and services, is critical to the role. Managing and supporting both the customers and work processes is another major component of the role, along with reporting to ensure accurate analysis within the business.

Hours for the role are Monday-Thursday (7:30am-5:00pm) and Friday (7:30am-4:00pm). Hours may differ when managing the Lower North Island Region.

Our Ideal Candidate

You will be a self-motivated, highly organised Account Manager that excels in building relationships with customers right across the supply chain. Your success comes from knowing your company’s strategy, knowing your products and effectively delivering to your customers. Proven interpersonal, sales and administration skills are required to be successful in this role. Along with highly developed communication skills, listening skills and a natural ability to problem solve.

In addition to this you will also demonstrate skills and experience in the following areas;

At least five years’ experience in an Account Management role
Exceptional relationship management skills with the ability to establish credibility and build rapport at all levels
Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders and manage expectations
Strong attention to detail and sharp organisational skills
Competent in computer and IT systems, sales and stock management processes
Awareness and understanding of the importance of a safe and healthy working environment
Knowledge of the wood processing industry, construction/building materials industry or its products (desirable)
This role provides you with the opportunity to live in one of NZ’s most vibrant economic regions and join an industry leader. It gives you the chance to be part of the continued success of a company committed to growth and development and one that believes ‘our team is our future’.

The successful applicant will have the legal right to work in New Zealand indefinitely and will be required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug screen.
