This rustic but cozy cabin is nestled in a small clearing surrounded by native and pine forest just out of Gisborne. Enjoy a primitive yet comfortable off-grid night in the woods, cook over coals and heat the whistling kettle on the fireplace.

Primitive but comfortable, rustic but with elements of finesse, the perfect place to forget about the world, reconnect or just a digital de-tox for a night or two. The nearby Hangaroa river has trout, and if you wanted to bring a grandchild or two it's a great place for some outdoor education. The toilet is an outdoor dunny, and there is no hot water or shower facilities. There are cold water pools or small waterfalls to wash in just a short 5 minute walk through the bush: great- great- grandparent style. The small inside fireplace is amazing for heating and cooking, and the outdoor charcoal BBQ and firepit are perfect for ambience and cooking on coals. Shooting by permit only please - there are plenty of possums, magpies and goats.
