Te āheinga - The opportunity

Are you passionate about upholding regulations and ensuring the safety and well-being of our community? New Plymouth District Council is seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to join our team as a Territorial Authority Licensing Officer.

Tino takohanga - Key responsibilities:

- Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation
- Maintain and actively oversee NPDC compliance schedule and BWoF internal system including but not limited to; receiving and processing BWoF and 12A's, reminder letters and invoicing for annual BWoF, outstanding warrants and reminders
- Author Compliance schedules and ensure they are published concurrently with the associated building consent code compliance schedule
- Receive prescribed form 11 applications (amendment to compliance schedule), take all practicable steps including but not limited to: NPDC records check, site visits, and practitioner interviews to enable site specific compliance schedule to be drafted and issued
- Undertake Territorial Authority building warrant of fitness/compliance schedule onsite inspections (document and physical inspection of systems) to verify the accuracy of documentation, reporting and systems
- Compile evidence and report to the building management team suspected illegal building work as a result of onsite audit or practitioner complaint
- Maintain all Territorial Authority functions to a standard that ensures ongoing BCA accreditation
- Works in conjunction with NPDC Pools Officer to maintain the New Plymouth Council swimming pools system

Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako - Essential skills and experience:

- Territorial Authority minimum two years' experience in relevant discipline
- Building Consents officer minimum two years' experience
- Private sector specified systems technician minimum two years' experience
