We are looking for a proactive and energetic person for the role of part time caretaker at Frankley School.

Our ideal candidate will be reliable, self-directed and able to work unsupervised. They will preferably have experience in grounds maintenance, have an eye for detail, and be able to turn their hand to general repairs. The role provides the successful applicant with a wide variety of tasks that are carried out on a daily, weekly, and seasonal schedule. A reasonable level of physical fitness is required as some tasks will involve bending, lifting or climbing.

The position will be 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. For the right candidate, these hours can be negotiated. This is a 52 week a year job with 4 weeks of annual leave and statutory holidays.

Good communication skills are required and an ability to meet timeframes is important. The job requires you to be able to interact positively and appropriately as part of the school community including positive relationships with children, whānau and staff.

The successful candidate must be able to use their own vehicle for the collection of small supplies and, therefore, a current clean driver’s license is also a requirement. Police vetting will also be undertaken.

Remuneration will be in line with the current School Caretakers', Cleaners', Canteen and Ground Staff Collective Agreement 2022-2024.

Visits are welcome by arrangement. The start date for this position is the beginning of the school year, 2024.
