The role
As a Line Mechanic, you will ensure the construction and maintenance of electrical lines to customer and Network requirements are met in a timely, appropriate and efficient manner. This role will report to the Delivery Manager Construction, and will be based at our New Plymouth Depot, your safety and that of others around you is your number one priority in this role. The work is varied, and youll take part in the key construction and maintenance of overhead electrical lines to our customer and network requirements.

The key responsibility for this position includes, but are not limited to:
- Assist with work plans and ensure that relevant field paperwork is completed as necessary
- Install and replace electricity network pole structures and overhead conductors
- Construction of underground power reticulation

Our Ideal candidate
Youll be working on a variety of exciting projects and may have to do some occasional weekend work. We are proud to have a leadership team that offers guidance and encouragement to help all team members perform their best work.

To be successful in this role, you will also have some of the following skills:
- Distribution Line Mechanic qualification (required to work on the Vector Network)
- Certificate in or working towards Electrical Engineering is an advantage
- EWRB Registration
- A current NZ EWRB Practicing licence or in the process of obtaining registration.
- At least two years solid experience under your belt
- A great work attitude and willingness to be part of a diverse team along with a strong focus to health & safety
- Ability to communicate and work under minimum supervision
- Preferably working at height competencies and experience heavy industry & construction type skill set
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics & diagrams
- Experience with isolating and switching HV & LV network systems
- Be a registered electrician with a current practicing licence
- Able to cope with the physical demands of the job and has a strong commitment to health and safety
- New Zealand drivers licence
