The opportunity - Te āheinga
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced ICT Business Transformation Manager to join our Strategy and Planning group on a four-year fixed-term. This role is a key part of our PMO Leadership team, responsible for overseeing the ICT Business Transformation function. You will lead a high-performing team to consistently meet or exceed strategic objectives and ensure the successful delivery of projects in terms of time, cost, and quality.
Key responsibilities - Ngā haepapa matua:
- Strategic leadership: Actively contribute to strategic planning and represent the PMO in internal and external engagements
- People leadership: Model our values, promote cross-functional engagement, and foster a supportive and inclusive team environment
- Health, safety, and wellbeing: Ensure a safe work environment and promote awareness of health, safety and wellbeing procedures
- ICT delivery: Convert annual plans into fully scoped and resourced programmes and projects, drive performance, and collaborate with internal teams. Work closely with the Manager Digital Enablement and the Digital Enablement team to ensure the timely delivery of all digital projects, driving performance and collaboration to meet strategic objectives
- Quality assurance: Ensure compliance with legislation and regulations, foster continuous improvement, and manage risks and issues
- Stakeholder management: Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable successful project delivery. Work closely with the Manager, Digital Enablement, and the Digital Enablement team to ensure the timely delivery of all digital projects, driving performance and collaboration to meet strategic objectives
Essential skills and experience - Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako:
- Relevant tertiary degree and/or extensive experience in delivering a portfolio of information and communication technology projects
- Advanced knowledge of best practice programme and project management techniques
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to set vision and values and lead a team
- Knowledge of health and safety management and employment conditions
- Ability to navigate and lead teams through organisational change
Desirable skills:
- Experience in a complex public-facing environment with knowledge of Local Government legislation
- Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to build successful working relationships
- Strategic thinking with advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written skills, including executive report writing
- Experience working with Kaupapa Māori and competency in Tikanga
