This is a full-time or part-time role based in New Plymouth, working for Nagel Consultants Ltd, a boutique engineering consultancy firm. What you'll be doing
Lead the structural design and analysis of commercial, residential and industrial buildings
Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings and specifications
Liaise with clients, architects, builders, quantity surveyors and other stakeholders
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant building codes and standards
Contribute to the continual improvement of our structural engineering processes
What we're looking for
A bachelor's degree or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards it
New Zealand based structural engineering design experience, ideally 5 + years, but willing to accommodate the right candidate outside the box
Excellent technical skills in structural analysis, design and detailing
Proficient in the use of structural engineering software such as SPACEGASS and ETABS
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Ability to work independently and lead a team on complex projects
