Mō tēnei tūrangi mahi | About the role –
This is a full time, fixed term position (ending 30 June 2022) which resides within the Regional Strategy and Sectors team in Te Puna Umanga. Our work centres on the ‘big picture’ of regional strategy implementation, supporting key sectors such as energy, engineering, food, visitor and niche growth areas as well as high impact projects.
We are looking for someone with exceptional project/programme management, writing and relational skills (including business case development) who can also support our interface with key government agencies, regional and national stakeholders, and community groups.
As the Programme Manager, you will play a key role by advancing implementation of our regional strategy’s actions.
You will be connecting with individuals and groups interested in progressing initiatives; supporting our leadership group, Ngā Kaiwhakatere o Taranaki; championing priority projects; and helping with business case development and opportunities for securing investment.
You will also track and promote programme, ensuring its momentum and understanding with a wide range of audiences.

• Understanding and experience with programme management and measurement
• Strong customer-centric orientation, relationship skills and teamwork
• Experience in supporting collaborative strategies
• Experience in preparing and delivering presentations, and reporting to a wide range of audiences
• High standard of communication skills and ability to relate to people across all levels, enterprise sizes, sectors and business maturity
• Knowledge of relevant local, regional, and government approaches and funding
• A tertiary level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
