We are looking for an experienced and motivated specialist population health analyst who is committed to health equity and improving Māori Health outcomes.

Reporting to the General Manager Planning, Funding & Population Health, the analyst will support regular assessment of population health analysis and outcomes for Taranaki. A key goal is to contribute to the design, delivery and evaluation of population and public health programmes, and to the analytical platform for the DHB that will give users broad access to analytics in a responsive environment.

The successful person will have the opportunity to:
Shape or produce a data analytics roadmap or strategy document to inform the future development of population health analytics
Support Senior Managers through the provision of knowledgeable analytical support to enable proactive planning and service development
Support the intelligence function of the COVID-19 Response
Ensure transparent and regular reporting on deliverables with early warning of any deficits
Develop an analytical tool set and leverage efficiencies that new analytical tools will provide
To be successful in this role, you’ll need an understanding of and a proven ability in related areas:
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles of Tino Rangatiratanga, Equity, Active Protection, Options and Partnership
A tertiary qualification or equivalent significant experience in a population health related area, epidemiology or relevant similar discipline
Previous experience in the health sector in a clinical role or in population health or public health
Demonstrable ability to deliver a high standard of service
Experience in use of statistical methodologies
