About Us:

Family Works is one of the largest NGOs providing integrated social services for the whole community. Family Works provides a range of services to families and communities including needs assessments, social work, counselling and therapy and a range of life-skills and parenting courses

About the Role:

This is a 12 month fixed term role - 4 days per week - working in our New Plymouth and Hawera sites in the community. This role offers challenge and flexibility. It involves the provision of non-violence programmes to men and women.

The Non-Violence Programme aims to prevent family violence through both holding perpetrators of family violence accountable and also providing them with support to change their behaviour.

About You:

You will be an empathetic person with a passion for helping and empowering adults and whanau.

You will:

Have experience of working with both adult perpetrators (primary role) and adult victims and managing the risk related to family violence
Have a tertiary qualification in social work, counselling, psychology or related discipline
Be familiar with working in culturally diverse environments
Be proactive and have good time management and computer skills
Manage a busy caseload and the associated administrative requirements
